After doing a serious cabinet overhaul this week, I concluded that I needed out with the junk food and in with the health and energy boosting ingredients. It has been far too easy for me to grab pre-made foods on the go with the depressing New England weather we’ve been hit with (almost 100 cumulative inches… no joke!). While there are a lot of great and healthy foods available on the go, it does nothing for your bank account. In an effort to save money and really take control of a healthier lifestyle, I’ve decided to re-load my cabinets with some of my favorite and most versatile items.
Did anyone else stay up too late live-tweeting the Oscars? I’ve got a major fashion hangover today, so bear with me. While the show itself did not disappoint with laughter (NPH’s undies), tears (Common and John Legend performing “Glory”), profound speeches (Julianne Moore, Patricia Arquette, and Graham Moore), and awkward moments (John Travolta holding Idina Menzel’s face and Sean Penn in general), my focus was all about the fashion. Here is my list of hits and misses from last night…
Our New England readers know the drill. There’s another storm headed our way tonight, which means another Sunday shut in from the world with nothing but delivery and Netflix. On a typical weekend I would love nothing more than to sleep in, lounge all day in my sweat suit, and watch Netflix in bed, but unfortunately this has been the case for the last three weeks. Since I’m feeling a little stir-crazy and very hopeless, I’ve put together a list of the movies/shows I’ve been watching to help you guys get through yet another snow day.

Happy 2015, Blogging in Bed followers! I am so stoked (and honored) that Meghan & Maria asked me to provide you with ways to maintain the New Year, Better You.
Making lifestyle changes can be exciting, but can be just as overwhelming. The key to success starts with keeping your goals small & detailed, and taking the changes on one at a time. Don’t try to do everything at once. Small, consistent changes add up! (I still continue to remind myself of this regularly, so you’re not alone)
I’ve put together a few of my favorite beginner tips to help you stay on track:
- Kick-start your morning with lemon water
Drink an 8oz glass of warm/room temperature water with the juice of half a lemon first thing in the morning. Yes, even before the caffeine hits your lips! Why you ask? Here are just some of the key benefits to this easy morning ritual:
Valentine’s Day should be about YOU. Whether you’re prepping for a big date night or in need of some serious pampering, my favorite way to wind down and relax is a good soak in el baño.
We sincerely hope you’re not feeling this New England snow slump as bad as we are. I’ve been living in velour jumpsuit denial from my bed and Maria is almost off to sunny Uruguay (stinkin’ b*#@%). If you’re like me and stuck in the North(east) Pole, specifically Portsmouth, here is a list of upcoming events you’ll want to roll out of bed and put your snow boots on for.
